Daryl’s Story
Expert Advice You Can Trust
28 years or so ago, Daryl Martin left his job in banking to set up a business looking after charities. Originally Daryl started out as an independent examiner signing off year-end accounts. Over the years the business took on a wider range of services, with a growing team, until today it’s pretty much a one-stop charity service.
A couple of years ago it was time to hand over the business to younger, more energetic hands. This came in the shape of Daryl’s son in law, James who brought with him some considerable skills and experience as a businessman.

During his time in the saddle, James has reshaped the business and refreshed and envisioned the team. The business (2 businesses actually: Independent Examiners Ltd, the original business and Trust Advice Ltd (formerly AFVS), which provides all the other services) are going from strength to strength, with a high-quality team who are committed to the charity sector and get immense enjoyment from the work they do.
Daryl no longer has any ownership of these businesses, so no more heavy lifting is needed on his part. He has more time these days to spend with his wife, Millie the dog, and multitudes of grandchildren. Nevertheless, he still has a wealth of experience and understanding of charities and has the capacity to do what he’s good at and enjoys, working with charities to help keep them safe and prospering. Send him an e-mail if he might be the right person to make a difference to your charity.

Thoughts from sunny but windy Cornwall
We’ve been resting up in a lodge in deepest Cornwall this last week. Visited the seals at Godrevy Point, immersing ourselves in the sights and sounds of a part of the country we all love. Today sadly was marred by
